ABOUT Cindy Garcia-Diego -
Prior to the City of Stamford, Cindy held a Financial Analyst Position at one of the Big Four Companies, Deloitte (Wilton Office). She started off as an Administrative Assistant to the CEO and Chief of Staff. After two years, she received her Degree in Business Management and was promoted to Financial Analyst. She controlled and managed various projects (worth millions) from its creation to closeout. Cindy assisted the Controller of the NYC Division and served as his back up when needed, maintained all temporary staffing for the Independence, Ethic & Compliance Department in the Wilton Office, assisted in setting up and providing training for approximately 35 employees in the India Office, with guidance from Senior Managers, and had the pleasure of working with numerous Partners and Directors of US / Global Operations, and various Consultants from all over the globe.
In May 2012, Cindy began working for the City of Stamford for the WPCA (Water Pollution Control Authority).
In February of 2014, she transferred to the Building Department, ultimately becoming the Executive Assistant to the Chief Building Official and an expert in the use of View Permit - the online permitting system required by The City of Stamford. Cindy assisted with the coordination of plan review and permit issuance for both residential and commercial properties, conducted plan review for solar panel installations, window, roofing and siding and issued said permits.
Wearing many hats, she learned quickly that there is no such thing as a “quick question” and that “every permit is custom.” Homeowners, contractors, architects, engineers, title searchers and peers had the privilege of guidance and advice from her regarding process and procedure of the building department for permit issuance, close-outs and legalization of homes.
Being bilingual, in English and Spanish, Cindy was an asset in assisting people of the Spanish speaking community to find their way through the permit process. Cindy is truly grateful for the time and experience spent at the City of Stamford and is also truly grateful for those individuals that were involved in allowing her to learn from them and their experience in all that BUILDING DEPARTMENT does.
I had gone out on my own as a permit expediter and sub-contracted with a couple of consulting firms after leaving the City of Stamford and decided to go out on my own dba Diego Property Services which were the building blocks to DPS Consulting, LLC in 2019…
